Oreo Butter
We all know and love cookie butter, but Oreo Butter is the lesser-known cousin of Little Miss Cookie Butter. The texture of this spread is a bit more grainy as it is homemade and not commercially produced but the end result is a delicious topping that can be used on ice cream, on toast, with a spoon straight from the food processor or in a layer of ice cream cakes.
Homemade Oreo Cookie Butter is highly addictive- buyer beware! Oreos get their deliciously addicting flavor profile from black cocoa and a sweet cream filling. Blending milk’s favorite cookie into a spread leaves you with endless possibilities!
Some food processors have trouble getting the Oreos to grind down to a smooth butter, so make sure to add neutral oil.
Equipment
- 1 food processor
Ingredients
- 1 container oreos
- 1/4 cup vegetable or grapeseed oil
Instructions
- Add oreos and salt to food processor and pulse until crumbs form
- Turn food processor to its continuous setting and let run until mixture is becoming smooth
- If mixture is not turning to the texture of natural peanut butter, add in oil one tablespoon at a time until mixture is preferred texture
- Scoop out and place into a sealed tupperware
- Mixture will stay in refrigerator, in sealed container for 10 days
